What this is, and what it is not.
Who
BiH Atlas is published by Kinetic Gain LLC, a US company run by Miz Causevic, who was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina and lives in the United States. It is an independent reference site: no political party, foundation or government funds it, and it sells nothing. Contact is through the Kinetic Gain contact page.
The site exists because the country is usually explained either in fragments (a bridge, a war, a football result) or in one community's voice. This is an attempt at the whole picture in one place, in wording all three constituent peoples and everyone else can read without flinching.
How it was made
Thirteen draft datasets were assembled with an AI assistant, then rebuilt here under editorial rules and a fact-check. The drafts were raw material, not the product.
- 1DraftsThirteen topic drafts (history, government, presidency, heritage, culture, cinema, demographics, people, the 1992 to 1997 republic, the diaspora) were generated from public reference material, mainly Wikipedia, in August and September 2026.
- 2Fact-checkEvery draft was checked item by item on 2026-09-11 against primary sources: the Dayton constitution and OHR records, the Central Election Commission, ICTY and ICJ judgments, the Srebrenica Memorial Center, the Agency for Statistics of BiH, UNESCO, the Commission to Preserve National Monuments, festival and academy award records, the US Census Bureau. Around 510 claims were examined; about 100 were corrected or removed.
- 3Editorial rulesNo stock photos or placeholder media (every image is an original drawing or diagram). No statistic without a named source and year. No quotation attributed to a real person unless the exact source was found; none survived that test, so none appear. No lyrics. The four war-era pages use the language of court findings and give both figures where sources differ.
- 4CorrectionsEvery change is logged on the corrections page with the wrong value, the corrected value and the source. Readers can report errors through the contact page; corrections are dated.
- 5RefreshTime-sensitive facts (the High Representative, the Presidency rotation, vital statistics) carry an as-of date and are reviewed after the October 2026 general election.
