History
Prašuma Janj is a strict nature reserve where human intervention has been completely prohibited for decades. It encompasses a pristine forest ecosystem dominated by European beech (Fagus sylvatica), mixed with silver fir and Norway spruce. Trees here grow to giant heights, die, and decay naturally, providing critical habitats for rare mosses, fungi, insects, and nesting birds.
