Origin and lineage
Youngest son of Herceg Stjepan Vukčić Kosača, the Bosnian noble after whom Herzegovina is named; taken to Istanbul in 1474 and converted. A Bosnian Christian noble by birth, so 'Bosniak' is an anachronism; listed here as Bosnian-born. Five terms as Grand Vizier between 1497 and 1516.
