Tuzla Canton

Located in northeastern Bosnia, it is one of the most populous cantons and serves as a major industrial, coal-mining, and salt-processing hub with a Bosniak majority.

What a canton governs
Under the Federation constitution the cantons hold police, education, culture, housing, public services, local land use, tourism and cantonal budgets. This is why school curricula, police uniforms and hospital funding differ from canton to canton, and why the Federation has thirteen governments in total.

Tuzla

An economic, scientific, and cultural center in northeastern Bosnia. It is the third-largest city in the country.

The only city in Europe to have salt lakes (Panonika) in its central park, which are visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists annually for their medicinal properties.
